| Hello,
I started making soap 20 years ago for my family. I wanted a soap that was gentle, cleaned well, and was actually good for your skin. Through the years I developed soaps that my friends and family loved. I was urged to share the soap with more people and Cardigan Mountain SoapWorks was born.
My handmade soaps are gentle, long lasting, with a rich creamy lather, retaining the glycerine naturally produced in the soap making process. All vegetable oils are used. I add natural vitamin E and calendula oils, known for their healing properties, to all my soaps. I hope you enjoy the simplicity and luxury of handmade soaps as much as I have had fun making them!
All of my soaps are made in small batches, poured into wooden molds. Each bar is cut from this block by hand, and carefully placed on shelves to cure. Every bar is unique, in size and shape. I have no machinery, and prefer the simple quiet way of soap making.
This year I have added some unwrapped soaps, and bulk blocks. I can remember when I was very young, sent to the attic by my aunt to retrieve some new blocks of soap. Now you can share that same tradition, slicing bars as you need them. Let me know what you think!
Lilly
